The Arc of Katy is a non-profit organization that works to create opportunities for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities so that each person can be a participating and respected member of our community and grow in mind, body and spirit.
They provide a school year day program for adults, a summer camp program for adults and teens, and weekend social activities for teens and adults.
HCC sisters contribute needed office and craft supplies monthly to help defray The Arc's costs for those items.
We also volunteer our time to help during special events.
We hold silent auctions at our HCC Summer Social, Fashion Show, Sweetheart Ball and Founder's Day Banquet with the proceeds being donated to The Arc program.
HCC AND THE ARC OF KATY WORKING TOGETHER
The Fall ARC Craft Project is now complete. HCC members cut 400 brown bag patterns and Arc Campers made 90 fall pumpkins, 10 Halloween pumpkins, and 40 Christmas ornaments.
Campers Working on Pumpkins
Completed Pumpkins and Christmas Ornaments
This is the first time that the Arc of Katy Day Camp has ever made items for purchase, and HCC sisters are thrilled that their contribution of cutting the needed patterns contributed to the success of this Arc project and that Beta Sigma Phi is helping made a difference for the Day Campers!
