XI BETA KAPPA Exemplar Chapter Meets: 3rd Tuesday at 6:30 PM
Xi Beta Kappa was founded as a Friendly Venture chapter in September 1996. True to its origins, Xi Beta Kappa is a group of friends celebrating the gift of sisterhood through fellowship and service. Members are from a wide range of backgrounds – different careers, ages and ethnicities. Some members are single, while others are married. Some have small children, and others are new grandparents. Xi Beta Kappa is a beautiful blend of ladies celebrating each other’s differences.
Xi Beta Kappa is a Career Chapter, which means we typically have one meeting and one social each month. While our members live throughout the Houston metropolitan area, we are known as the “Downtown Chapter” because most of our meetings are held close to downtown in the Greater Heights and Oak Forest area. Our socials are not limited to the downtown area and may include museum exhibits, pool parties in Katy, theater events, dinner-and-a-movie, bowling or a casual dinner with The Girls.
Our chapter prides itself in its service to others. Each meeting has a “Service Project” focus. We donate items to women’s shelters and to animal rescue groups. Every Halloween and Easter, we prepare more than 100 candy bags for the children at Casa de Esperanza. Xi Beta Kappa also actively supports the Houston City Council service project.
