Beta Sigma Phi recognized for supporting Arc of Katy

Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Houston Council, continues to support The Arc of Katy in its mission to serve individuals who are intellectually and developmentally delayed.
The sorority held a successful summer social and fundraiser at Midway Barbeque in July and were successful in raising funds and donations totaling $1,164. The funds will help The Arc of Katy with its plans for the organization’s first Jingle Bell Jam to be held in December.
The Arc of Katy celebrated a successful Summer Program with an Open House on Aug. 11 and recognized those in the community who supported the Summer Program financially.
David Woodham, Arc Board president, presented photo "thank-you" plaques to Taylor High School for its Color for a Cause benefitting The Arc of Katy, Houston Junior Forum for selecting the Arc of Katy for a community grant and Beta Sigma Phi, Houston Council, for its continued support of The Arc of Katy.
Beta Sigma Phi is an international social and cultural organization open to women of all ages. Members enjoy friendships, socials, cultural programs and serving their community. The Houston Council has fifteen area chapters including several in the Katy area.
The next council sponsored event is the Annual Fall Fashion Show Luncheon to be held on Oct. 29 at Maggianno’s Little Italy Restaurant featuring fashions from Chicos. Also featured will be a silent auction benefitting The Arc of Katy. Women interested in learning more about membership opportunities are invited to visit www.betasigmaphihouston.org.
