International Disaster Relief Fund
Houston City Council’s Service Project for 2018-2019 was proposed by Dolores Fritz (Torchbearer Iota Chapter) as a way for Houston City Council to repay Beta Sigma Phi's International Disaster Relief Fund for the financial assistance given to our Houston City Council sisters impacted by Hurricane Harvey in 2017 as well as sisters all around the world impacted by the many fires, floods, earthquakes, volcano eruptions, mid-slides, tornados, and other disasters.
Over 15 HCC sisters had a total loss or major impact from Hurricane Harvey and many more required various levels of assistance. We are very grateful that our International Office created this fund many years ago in the event of members' needs.
If you would like to read the history of the International Fund, click on the link below.
* We will hold silent auctions and a Giving Tree at our HCC Summer Social, Fashion Show, Sweetheart Ball and Founder's Day Banquet with the proceeds being donated to the Beta Sigma Phi International Disaster Relief Fund.
* We will also accept monetary donations at any time.
Anyone wishing to donate directly to the Beta Sigma Phi International Disaster Relief Plan should complete International's Form below and mail it per instructions. If you do, please send an email to Dolores Fritz, our Service Chairman, at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and donation amount so that we may keep track of your donation for our Service Project report.
In response to the need for a Disaster Relief Plan for Houston City Council after Hurricane Harvey and the future, the 2017-2018 HCC Executive Board created a sustainable plan for our sisters to apply to International for assistance and also to advise us what goods and services they needed immediately and during recovery.
